UNIQUE CANS MADE SPECIALLY FOR FANS TO CHEER FOR THEIR TEAMS DURING RUSSIA'S WORLD CUP.

An action to bring closer the passions of fans for Coca Cola and soccer.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project consisted of developing aluminum cans made especially for fans to cheer for their teams during Russia's World Cup, each with an exclusive function during the match: a thick aluminum can, to hold tight to in moments of tension; an upside-down can, for the comebacks; and the horn can, to celebrate the goals.

Besides those 3 main cans, other versions were also developed, such as an aluminum electric horn and a taller can, for injury times.

For the horn version, several usability and acoustic tests were carried out so that we could find the ideal shape to be attached to the can; a special lock was designed so the horn could be coupled under pressure in the can, without the need for holes or glue in the final version.

The entire electronic system has been custom designed for the interior of the horn; the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) was designed with a circular niche in the center, to house the battery and the buzzer responsible for generating the horn’s sound.

Approved model of the horn. Developed in ABS, a thermoplastic polymer with all the electronic components and coupled to the Coca-Cola can.

Two other horn versions were developed, one with an aluminum body, which was given to digital influencers during the World Cup in Russia, and the second, simpler and blow-triggered (without electronic components), which was sold to the public at the virtual store of Coca-Cola Brazil.

A mold was developed using the sand casting process, special for aluminum. The cans went through a machining process in order to be protected with a special coating and then filled.

All procedures went under my supervision, so that design and finishing solutions were ensured. In the end, we reached a 2 millimeters thick aluminum can, perfect to be ‘squished’ in moments of tension without posing any risk to the liquid content ;)
